Voodoo Val:
One can hear me and see us. All right. Welcome back to episode two of the design off. My name is voodoo val, and I'm going to be your host artist today. And I'm going to be joined by my buddy Alex Lazaris. How are you doing, Alex? Hello.
Alex Lazaris:
I'm doing wonderfully. How about you?
Voodoo Val:
That was very hello. Hello, friends. Don't let our positive demeanor fool you. We are mortal enemies for the duration of this stream, battling it out with design and our wit alone faces in chat thunderdome style. Yes. Super thunderdome style. Adobe dome Dimmadome style. Anyways, Nikolai and Bernadette and Akin and Sam kerwin, tim Kai, it is so good to see all of you folks. Just a quick sort of recap of what we did yesterday and what this segment is all about. Essentially what me and Alex are going to be doing today is we're going to be creating some crazy stuff for you. I'm going to be doing illustration. He's going to be doing some graphic design. And we're going to be designing according to random words that he and I draw out of magic hats that we have. We can show off the magic hats right quick. Yesterday I had a stormtrooper helmet. Now I have poe Dameron's flight helmet, and you've got like this majestic mustache helmet, which is honestly, I don't know how I can compete with that, but I'm going to try.
Alex Lazaris:
You can't.
Voodoo Val:
I'm going to listen, gentlemanly. Okay. All right. Mine's from space, though, kid. Mine's from space.
Alex Lazaris:
I got like lightning and stuff and like tribal. Everybody loves tribal.
Voodoo Val:
Okay. That's pretty cool.
Alex Lazaris:
Green screened out.
Voodoo Val:
That is pretty awesome. But we're going to be drawing some words out of these magical hats. And then as we draw them throughout the stream, we have to add elements, design elements based on those words to our designs on the fly. We hope that you folks will also design along with us. I see somebody caught my Dale Dimmadome joke. Thank you so much. I appreciate it. This stream is so cool sounding. I think so, too. So we're going to be designing and there are some snippets of paper of words in our magic cats that are chat's choice. So you guys got to keep an eye on the stream because you may be asked to add magic words to our designs, which I think is pretty cool. So let's show off what we did yesterday. I'm going to jump over here to our dual stream thing. Our words from yesterday were toy spiky, red wedding, fabulous nature, black Sci-Fi. And then we also got to choose a word from chat, which I chose the word snowflake.
Alex Lazaris:
Didn't we have slither in there, too?
Voodoo Val:
We did have slither, yeah. That's the one that's missing because I added a weird little snake.
Alex Lazaris:
It's crazy.
Voodoo Val:
I'm going to zoom in on this.
Alex Lazaris:
Crown of ducks because those ducks are incredible.
Voodoo Val:
Where else do you get this kind of content, folks.
Alex Lazaris:
Absolutely my favorite thing ever.
Voodoo Val:
Thank you. Thank you. I think they're all miserable, but I can't tell if they're, like if their eyes because they have, like, chibi anime eyes, but I can't tell if they're glistening with happiness or sadness. I'm not sure. I hope it's happiness. I hope they're happy to be there. But without further ado, I think we should draw the first words from the magic hat and see what kind of terrifying design we're going to be drawing today. So let's go for it. I am too. I hope we get something that is.
Alex Lazaris:
Like I hope we start with chat.
Voodoo Val:
Yeah, me too. Me too. Let's see what we can do.
Alex Lazaris:
Let's go.
Voodoo Val:
What did you get? Oh, no. Do I even want to know? Is it painful?
Alex Lazaris:
It's going to be an interesting one. Early stage. I think it's harder than at the end.
Voodoo Val:
It's rainbow. Rainbow. Oh, no.
Alex Lazaris:
There's a lot of ways we can interpret that.
Voodoo Val:
Okay.
Alex Lazaris:
I'm not sure if I want to go. I hope yours is, like, more literal.
Voodoo Val:
Chat's choice. All right, guys, we got a chat's choice. So chat, you got to start throwing some. I swear that was not planned because you just said you wish maybe the universe is listening to you.
Alex Lazaris:
I wanted it early on. That's part of my strategy for winning today.
Voodoo Val:
Oh, really? Okay.
Alex Lazaris:
Let chat choose everything.
Voodoo Val:
So chat, you got to post. Just start giving us random words, some crazy words going on because we're going to choose, I guess, for chat's choice. Our words can be different for this round because we can choose one word that we prefer for ourselves from chat.
Alex Lazaris:
Ron keeps saying mittens every day with the mittens.
Voodoo Val:
Jennifer put murder mittens in there, which I believe are catclaws. I believe murder mittens are catclaws.
Alex Lazaris:
Shauna's cheating by giving you a star.
Voodoo Val:
Yeah. Someone says Star Wars. I could totally choose Star Wars.
Alex Lazaris:
Low hanging fruit. Easy peasy for you.
Voodoo Val:
I might choose Star Wars. I might go ahead and do that because I am trying to win today. So Star Wars and rainbow are mine. And if you see something that you appreciate in the chat, you can go for it, my friend. I'm going to group all this stuff together and I'm going to go for a new everybody's.
Alex Lazaris:
Goats. Thank you, Jose. I'll go with goats.
Voodoo Val:
You're going to go with rainbow? Goats is what you have. Oh, wow. Okay.
Alex Lazaris:
Let me pull up some adobe stock and get cracking on this. Jose, man coming in. Clutch.
Voodoo Val:
All right. I think you guys know what I'm going to draw. Those goats are great. Those goats are great.
Alex Lazaris:
Yeah. Done. First image on adobe stock is obviously the one I need.
Voodoo Val:
Obviously that one. I'm sure you guys know what's about to go down here. I'm going to keep quiet, though, and I'm going to just allow you to figure it out for yourselves.
Alex Lazaris:
I wonder if Val's going to draw something from Star Wars?
Voodoo Val:
I don't know. We're going to find out.
Alex Lazaris:
All right, sure.
Voodoo Val:
Everyone's super surprised and totally like, oh, my gosh, I'm dumbfounded. What will she ever think of next? Wow.
Alex Lazaris:
Okay, so I'm going to start with a direction, and because this is the nature of the competition, it's probably going to change drastically. So we'll see how this goes.
Voodoo Val:
Um, gamer cat. That's a good one. A suggestion. Yeah, that's a suggestion from Chat. Keep throwing out ideas, honestly, because it's entirely possible that we will draw Chat's choice again. So it's good to keep the ideas flowing in chat. Also, design with us folks, so you guys can choose a selection from Chat as well and start creating with us. I honestly would not be opposed to seeing someone paint a rainbow stormtrooper, so go for it. I'm drawing this Kylo Ren mask totally from memory, so I don't know if this is a disaster or not. It could be. I'm going to pull up some reference real quick. This goat is just beautiful. He's having a great time.
Alex Lazaris:
I've got ideas for days in my head right now.
Voodoo Val:
It's not too far off. I'm actually doing all right, cyberpunk girls. I'm going to do an under sketch, and then I'm going to kind of turn it on a lower opacity, and then I'm going to sketch underneath it. And then we have maybe ten more minutes before we start drawing new words. It's going to start getting cray cray up in here.
Alex Lazaris:
I'm trying to make just a rainbow eye for my goat.
Voodoo Val:
Really?
Alex Lazaris:
Yeah.
Voodoo Val:
That's actually awesome.
Alex Lazaris:
Is that too low hanging fruit? I feel like he's already he's crazy. He's crazy looking.
Voodoo Val:
I'm going to make the you know how Kylo Ren has those lines around the eyes of his mask? I'm going to make those rainbow.
Alex Lazaris:
Oh, yeah, cool.
Voodoo Val:
I'm going to make it rainbow. It's going to be dope.
Alex Lazaris:
You really went full Kylo Ren, huh?
Voodoo Val:
I did. I did go full kylo. Ren. But what were you expecting, Val? I'm drawing this Kylo Ren mask from memory. Everyone not surprised. Wow. Listen, how many people do you know that can draw a great Kylo Ren mask from memory, though? How many people are as obsessed I mean, fans, as big a fans as I am? I'm a cool kid where I come from, I think. Leave me alone. Yawn. Okay. All right. This is coming along. Ink.
Alex Lazaris:
This guy to get it around his EyeBut.
Voodoo Val:
All right. Getting this going, doing all his little weird, like, metal bits over here on the side. I think that's good enough. Let me pull up a little bit of reference. Okay.
Alex Lazaris:
Maybe I need just the transform.
Voodoo Val:
All right, I'm going to flip this. I just duplicated and flipped it because I don't have time. Ain't nobody got time to paint a full Kylo Ren mask today.
Alex Lazaris:
Not at all.
Voodoo Val:
Ain't nobody got time for that.
Alex Lazaris:
Surprise. You didn't just bring up one of your other art.
Voodoo Val:
You know, I've got, like, several of those.
Alex Lazaris:
I could easily kind of did that.
Voodoo Val:
You guys you guys hear him throwing shade over here? Do you guys hear this hostility? Honestly, I was about to say this is not what I expected, but this is exactly what I signed up for, to be perfectly honest. They were like, yeah, surprises. Invite some fun people to the stream. It'll be great. And I was like, who could I invite that would be super fun? Oh, yeah, I know exactly who's getting this invite. I know exactly who's going to be on the show, man.
Alex Lazaris:
I got off yesterday. I was like, I want four more hours of that. Yeah, I'm ready. Put me in. Put me in, coach.
Voodoo Val:
All right, I think that's good. Chat, I think. What do you think about that? I think that works.
Alex Lazaris:
His eyes actually work.
Voodoo Val:
Now I just need to like those look great, actually.
Alex Lazaris:
Thank you.
Voodoo Val:
That actually looks amazing. I have no slander for those goat eyes. Can we zoom in on that goat eye? Can we get a zoom in? Oh, man.
Alex Lazaris:
I'm just masking it a little bit.
Voodoo Val:
Make it that's actually legitimately amazing. What do you guys think? Isn't that cool? Chat? It will look great. They said, do a stream. They said, yeah. All right. Got my kylo in here. He's looking pretty cool. Let me give him a little shine. A little shine on the top of his dome there. Good stuff.
Alex Lazaris:
Tell where his eyes start and stop. Don't get from. I'm not a veterinarian.
Voodoo Val:
Goats are also weird little creatures, though, so they're very strange. All right, I'm going to clean up the edges of this Kylo mask, and then I'm going to add in my rainbow. And we have got, like two minutes, I think. Maybe a few more minutes, we'll give it a little bit of time.
Alex Lazaris:
How many minutes do you need, Mel?
Voodoo Val:
Wow. No, it's fine. Okay, that's fine. That's all right. I'm just going to do just going to do a quick rainbow. No, it's okay. I'm good. You see how he treats me, guys?
Alex Lazaris:
This is what I can opponent.
Voodoo Val:
This is what I like an opponent. This is what I deal with every day.
Alex Lazaris:
Every day.
Voodoo Val:
There's red. Let's do some orange.
Alex Lazaris:
High now. No, he's just like the hypnotode.
Voodoo Val:
Yeah, exactly.
Alex Lazaris:
Like pulsating you to get him to give you some of your clothes for him to eat.
Voodoo Val:
Exactly. Let's get some yellow going in here. I'm going to hit this with a blending mode, I think, so it's not too wild, it's not too insane. But as soon as I'm done with this rainbow, then we are going to get cracking on another word. Hopefully it's not as painful as rainbow because that's a hard one to implement.
Alex Lazaris:
It's hard to start with. I feel like later on you can just throw it wherever you want. Yeah, what kind of rainbow do I want? What kind of colors do I need exactly? Kind of cute. Grab this guy. Just for extra rainbow flare.
Voodoo Val:
Grab some blue. There we go. I'm going to group all these together, and then I'm going to hit it with a blending mode.
Alex Lazaris:
Boom. My skateboard is done now. Perfect.
Voodoo Val:
Wow, that skateboard. That actually looks great, though. Like, I'm super into it to be perfectly.
Alex Lazaris:
I actually put it on the mockup.
Voodoo Val:
Okay, there's part of my rainbow kylo. All right, you ready for another word, my friend?
Alex Lazaris:
I am.
Voodoo Val:
Okay. Forgive me. I'm going to wipe my nose in a very dainty manner. I'm just going to dab it with this napkin.
Alex Lazaris:
Why don't you use the force?
Voodoo Val:
Wow, man, help me out here. Oh, it's okay. Calling out my shortcomings. I'm weak in the force today, folks. All right, let's grab another word. You guys ready for this? That goat is insane. All right, what do you got?
Alex Lazaris:
I've got a chat.
Voodoo Val:
Chat choice. All right. Chat. Throw some stuff in chat. You get to choose one. And my word is square. So we have to incorporate a square someplace. So we got a shape, chat's choice and square.
Alex Lazaris:
Square. How do I want to incorporate square?
Voodoo Val:
I don't know. Let's see. I'm going to jump over to your excellent your excellent goat because it's just so good. Chad's choice. Spin log. Gecko. Tricycle. Slime. Walrus.
Alex Lazaris:
I can feel real. All right. Walrus.
Voodoo Val:
Nico says also square. Two squares.
Alex Lazaris:
Squares.
Voodoo Val:
Han solo sparkle.
Alex Lazaris:
I was literally about to type in square in adobe stock.
Voodoo Val:
Let's see what they wow, that's actually pretty cool. Those are some pretty unique squares. Somebody says dab. You know what? I'm going with dab.
Alex Lazaris:
Well, thank you, adobe stock, for giving me my square.
Voodoo Val:
I'm going with dab. Let me grab some gray. I'm going to color in this helmet real quick. Square squared. All right. That is a pretty awesome square, actually.
Alex Lazaris:
I feel like it's kind of cheating. It's so cool.
Voodoo Val:
It's a pretty rad square, but I.
Alex Lazaris:
Might just see if I can, like there we go. Val, how used to the new Adobe Photoshop controls are you?
Voodoo Val:
I'm pretty used to it. I'm pretty used to it because I've done a lot of the Photoshop daily creative challenges with the new stuff so far. I'm going to draw a little kylo body.
Alex Lazaris:
Little kylo body.
Voodoo Val:
Yeah. He's dabbing.
Alex Lazaris:
I wonder if I place a mask on the square if it's going to make it any better.
Voodoo Val:
I think you better watch out, Alex, honestly, because now that this kylo is dabbing, I don't know if you have any chance of beating me today.
Alex Lazaris:
I don't know if I had any chance to beat you at the start throwing on a dab.
Voodoo Val:
I don't know if I can I don't know if you can see the stream right now.
Alex Lazaris:
I see it a little bit behind.
Voodoo Val:
Because he is looking absolutely righteous. Right now. Do you see him? I'm going to give him little fingies. Little Kylo fingies.
Alex Lazaris:
He looks very anatomically.
Voodoo Val:
He is. Listen, man, give him a little hand, and I'm going to color in his little hand. Oh, yeah, that's what I'm talking about. This is art. Remember, you know that SpongeBob episode where they're just putting Squidward's nose on everything? That's how I am. But with this dabbing now it's art, guys.
Alex Lazaris:
Now it's on everything.
Voodoo Val:
Yeah, now it's art. Let me give him his little weird sleeves that he's got. Oh, yeah. It's game over for you, Alex. This is getting serious now, man.
Alex Lazaris:
Oh, no. What do I have to put in here? Walrus still. Oh, no.
Voodoo Val:
You chose walrus?
Alex Lazaris:
Yeah, why not?
Voodoo Val:
Out of all the things you could have chosen? That sounds really hard. Like a really hard thing to add.
Alex Lazaris:
I mean, you're not wrong, however, Alex is hopeless.
Voodoo Val:
Don't give up, Alex. Malik malik is rooting for you. And what was the other thing I had? Oh, square. I have to add a square. All right, hold on. Let me draw the rest of his sweet outfit. What are you laughing at? Oh, no. How are you going to incorporate walrus?
Alex Lazaris:
Have you seen what skateboard decks look like? They can be crazy.
Voodoo Val:
Oh, really? Okay. All right. I'll take your word for it.
Alex Lazaris:
This is like, kind of like a shop deck, almost. There's some pretty crazy things. Kind of the nice thing about it, the weirder it is, the better. I had a client where I was able to do a series of space cat skateboards.
Voodoo Val:
Space cat case?
Alex Lazaris:
Yeah.
Voodoo Val:
That's awesome. That's actually amazing.
Alex Lazaris:
Yeah, it was a lot of fun.
Voodoo Val:
Wow, this Kylo is just really showing up to the party right now. I'm going to give him little legs and little combat boots because he needs them.
Alex Lazaris:
Man. The object selection tool is so incredible.
Voodoo Val:
Oh, yes. I give him little combat boots. There we go. Some little booties. And I'm going to duplicate this leg.
Alex Lazaris:
No, he's behind the truck. I got to move him over a little bit.
Voodoo Val:
We're almost due for another word in a few minutes.
Alex Lazaris:
I hope it's another animal.
Voodoo Val:
I don't I don't know how I'm going to add an animal to this. I don't even know what this is shaping up to be. I'm going to bump this up just slightly. Oh, yeah. What happened to there it is.
Alex Lazaris:
Okay, I've got to get rainbow eye on the walrus.
Voodoo Val:
I'm going to make his legs a little bit longer. Just a little bit longer.
Alex Lazaris:
Rainbow lasers?
Voodoo Val:
Yes, rainbow lasers.
Alex Lazaris:
Thank you.
Voodoo Val:
Oh, no, you have to add a square. I do have to add a square. I don't know. I could give him a square hula hoop, but I don't know if that makes any sense. But I don't know if this makes much sense. I don't know if this makes much sense. Oh, no. I know he's going to be playing DDR. You guys ever played Dance Dance Revolution? Oh, yeah. Okay, hold on. Let me put him up here. I'm going to give him grab my little square tool. Here my little square tool. Boom. I'm gonna make this, like, a green. Oh, yeah. And I'm going to bump this to the middle. I'm going to warp this with some perspective like that. Oh, no. The world's not ready for this. Oh, man.
Alex Lazaris:
All right, I got to fix mr. Walrus is looking a little gross.
Voodoo Val:
He's looking sad. He needs some more of that goat energy. He needs some more of that goat energy in his life.
Alex Lazaris:
Absolutely.
Voodoo Val:
Oh, man.
Alex Lazaris:
I'm excited. Overlay. Maybe a little overlay.
Voodoo Val:
Let me put a stroke on this layer real quick.
Alex Lazaris:
What is that?
Voodoo Val:
What is what? He's going to be playing DDR.
Alex Lazaris:
No, it's chas. What is that?
Voodoo Val:
What is this? Oh, we don't know. We have no idea. Chat. So our words thus far that we have had to add have been rainbow square. And then we each got to choose a word from Chat. And I chose Star Wars. And you chose Walrus, if I'm not mistaken.
Alex Lazaris:
Yeah, that is correct. I chose Walrus.
Voodoo Val:
Okay. And I am going to color some of these squares. Because DDR has colored squares.
Alex Lazaris:
Yeah, I think it does. Look at this. I'm even labeling. I have so much time. I'm just laid back, relaxing.
Voodoo Val:
Wow.
Alex Lazaris:
Even label, like, naming my layers.
Voodoo Val:
I don't know, man. I think we got maybe four minutes until we have to pick a new word.
Alex Lazaris:
I'm sitting pretty right now.
Voodoo Val:
Are you? Yours actually looks really good. I do have to say I'm pretty impressed with it.
Alex Lazaris:
Thank you.
Voodoo Val:
You're welcome.
Alex Lazaris:
I can't wait for this to dissolve.
Voodoo Val:
Into, like, a disaster really quickly.
Alex Lazaris:
Give me my famous last words. Yeah, but I'm okay with that. I'm completely fine reading my words.
Voodoo Val:
Oh, no. This is, like, kind of horrifying already. I don't know who let me do this. Who gave me permission for this? All right. What are they saying? DDR dance, dance revolution you know that game that has arrows? It has arrows on the ground, and you press the arrows with your feet. That's what DDR is.
Alex Lazaris:
Oh, I need laser eyes.
Voodoo Val:
Yes, you need laser eyes. I think everything could use laser eyes. I think laser eyes makes everything cooler.
Alex Lazaris:
A lot of my friends used to call me Laserize.
Voodoo Val:
Why?
Alex Lazaris:
Because they couldn't say Lazaris, or they chose not to.
Voodoo Val:
That's actually kind of cool. Laseride. I think Lazaris is a pretty dope name anyhow, but Laserize just adds, like, a villainous air to it. That's just cool. It goes from being biblical to villainous really quick.
Alex Lazaris:
From zero to 100.
Voodoo Val:
Very quickly.
Alex Lazaris:
What color should I go?
Voodoo Val:
I'm going to flip this horizontal boom, and then I am going to draw a front arrow here. Oh, no. This is, like, just crazy. Crazy, man. Ashi eunice alex lost hope. Bow lasers out of kylo ren's eyes if you mean his eyes are already rainbow and he's dabbing, I don't know if I can. I'll add lasers to mine for the grand finale. When I beat Alex. Yeah, when I beat Alex and I just need it to be, like, even cooler, I'll just add some laser eyes. It'll be great.
Alex Lazaris:
Okay.
Voodoo Val:
All right. Yeah. You hear the slander over here?
Alex Lazaris:
No, that was my excitement.
Voodoo Val:
You're going to step to me.
Alex Lazaris:
Alex, if I was a walrus, why would I be shooting my laser eyes?
Voodoo Val:
Things we ask ourselves while designing.
Alex Lazaris:
This is how you creative direct kids.
Voodoo Val:
Oh, no. All right. I feel like we should probably grab a new word. I think it's new word time. Rainbow lasers. Oh, gosh, val is so fast. Am I really, actually fast at drawing? Because I always feel like I'm not quick enough. Am I okay?
Alex Lazaris:
Yeah, good. Yeah. Your duck crumb happened in, like, a series of five minutes. Very cool.
Voodoo Val:
All right, new word time, guys. Let's see what we got. Try not to look. What do you got?
Alex Lazaris:
That's cheating. I had that yesterday.
Voodoo Val:
Okay. Yeah. Let's not do things from yesterday.
Alex Lazaris:
I drew octopus, and I'm like that's. Oh, gosh.
Voodoo Val:
What is it?
Alex Lazaris:
I should have just kept the octopus.
Voodoo Val:
Oh, no. What is it?
Alex Lazaris:
Ship.
Voodoo Val:
Ship, ship. Oh, I'm fine. Man. I could add some Star Destroyers in the back, some Death doritos. It's happening. Okay, I drew the word spring.
Alex Lazaris:
What am I going to do with the ship?
Voodoo Val:
Spring could either be interpreted as spring, like the object, like a springy spring, or it could be, like, the season spring. So that could be, like, the color green flowers, nature, whatever you want. I kind of feel like I want to have some Star Destroyers in the back, shooting flowers, shooting peace and love everywhere. So I'm going to put spring out here.
Alex Lazaris:
What are these things called?
Voodoo Val:
I don't know, but those are glorious.
Alex Lazaris:
That's what I want a ship out of that I want to make a.
Voodoo Val:
Ship, like playground horses or I don't know what they are.
Alex Lazaris:
Come on, chat. Those of you with kids, please help.
Voodoo Val:
It just know if you're an adult that just really loves to have these things, because I love them, and I'm 27, so I feel like it's totally reasonable for adults to just, like, unfair.
Alex Lazaris:
That as we've gotten bigger, we no longer can fit on these.
Voodoo Val:
Yeah, it's really uncool, but I feel like the larger those things get, the more deadly they become, because even as a kid, I was not permitted to be on them for very long because you're supposed to just ride back and forth, just like, hi, mom and dad. Having a great time. Always just like, yes. Just rocking out on those things till my parents were like, you can't play with this toy anymore. You can't have this. So I feel like if I had those right now at the ripe age of almost 30, I might harm people around me with that thing. So I should probably not have one of those.
Alex Lazaris:
I get bottomed out on it.
Voodoo Val:
Yeah, just like hit the back. Hit the front. Yeah.
Alex Lazaris:
I just get stuck at one of those positions.
Voodoo Val:
All kinds of danger. I'm actually going to adventure to adobe stock as well, and I'm going to see if they have star destroyers on stock. Let's see. Adobe stock. Star destroyer. Do they have star destroyers? No, but they've got ships. Oh, no. I found star destroyers licensing that. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah.
Alex Lazaris:
It has to be harder than it needs to be. Why can't it just read my mind?
Voodoo Val:
I know. Why can't it just know? Oh, this bro. I got you, adobe's. Got you FAM. Oh, this man coming in the next.
Alex Lazaris:
Version of adobe stock.
Voodoo Val:
Yeah, adobe mind reader knows exactly what stock photo you're looking for before you even search for it.
Alex Lazaris:
Oh, no. Ship really is not helping.
Voodoo Val:
Yeah, this hold on. Let me see. You know what I'm going to do? Is there's, like, one star destroyer here? I might not use this image. I might have to find another image. I wonder if there's, like, a thai silencer or something. Cool.
Alex Lazaris:
That sounds like a really fancy gun.
Voodoo Val:
Thai silencer. The thai silencer is one of the ships that kylo, you know how his was, like, super long, and I know that's not a word, but that's his ship. It's the thai silencer. The fancy one that's, like extra long. Honestly, I think they only gave him a longer ship because he's so tall and his legs couldn't fit in the regular one. They were like, oh, no, kyla needs a new ship, man. He can't get in this one. It's not going to work. They don't have a lot of star wars on adobe stock.
Alex Lazaris:
Shocking.
Voodoo Val:
I know.
Alex Lazaris:
Probably because it'd be impossible to license.
Voodoo Val:
Yeah. I might just add this one here's, like a regular kind of Sci-Fi scene to put in the back. There we go.
Alex Lazaris:
Jennifer's thinking about doing a design off with her husband. I think that's a great idea.
Voodoo Val:
That's a fabulous idea. Extra fabulous idea. Right, to?
Alex Lazaris:
It's such a good way to practice and hone your skills, even on just a fun thing. Like if you work at a company with other designers to just take some time and just practice together. It's a good way to build camaraderie and just try things.
Voodoo Val:
Absolutely. Well, I mean, at least in ours, we're judging each other pretty hard and chat. Yeah, chat is, too. Nice try, but I was trying to.
Alex Lazaris:
Tell me myself that to calm myself down last night.
Voodoo Val:
Just to make yourself feel better.
Alex Lazaris:
They definitely weren't judging you.
Voodoo Val:
No, they love me. They would never do that. I don't know why. You sound super high pitched when you're at home alone.
Alex Lazaris:
No, it's my mickey voice. I do that every day.
Voodoo Val:
Oh, boy.
Alex Lazaris:
Pluto.
Voodoo Val:
I'm just continuing this background down here. He's at the DDR championships. The Galactic Championships here. That's what's going on.
Alex Lazaris:
Shauna keeps saying, like, lasers every three times.
Voodoo Val:
Lasers. All right, I got lasers for you. I got lasers for you here. I'm going to put some lasers coming out of this ship, is what I'm going to do.
Alex Lazaris:
I don't know where this ship springy thing is going to go.
Voodoo Val:
Yeah, me neither. I have no idea.
Alex Lazaris:
I need, like, a million other words now for it to be a thing.
Voodoo Val:
I just put, like, some white marks on the canvas, and then now I'm going to give them, like, a red outer glow so they look like blaster bolts, kind of.
Alex Lazaris:
That's a good idea.
Voodoo Val:
Yeah. Let's see. Outer glow, some red. Oh, yeah. There we go. That's what I'm talking about. What are you laughing at, man?
Alex Lazaris:
It just doesn't I guess it's like a weird trip from the goats and walrus. The boat just belongs there.
Voodoo Val:
That's great. Yeah.
Alex Lazaris:
I mean, just add more things to it.
Voodoo Val:
There are some lasers. How do you feel about that? Is that lasery enough? Does that work? Well, I got some lasers in the back. That's definitely working. I think it's great. Who knew Voodoo Val was so fun? I've been fun this whole time, sir. I've been fun every day. They just now. All right, I'll take it. I'll take it. Honestly, I'll take it. Thank you, radio. Thank you. If we do, I promise to post whatever we create. Yes, please do. He just Mickey Mouse. He did. I don't really have any cool impressions that I could do. You got the Mickey Mouse. I could just be Hank Hill the whole time, but I don't know if that would work. I don't have anything appropriate to say. Oh, no. This show brings the fun side. We try very hard. We do try. Forgive me for dabbing my nose every five minutes, but I feel like you guys would prefer me to be happy and comfortable rather than, like, constantly sniffling on this stream.
Alex Lazaris:
I think you just need to disguise it as just, like, a full bore dab.
Voodoo Val:
Oh, I should I could do this. Okay. You'll see it on stream in a SEC. I think I'm a genius. I'm going to take that idea as my own.
Alex Lazaris:
Yep. I've already dabbed twice so far.
Voodoo Val:
Speaking coat Val. All right, so I gotta add springs. I don't know how. I don't know how to add springs. Oh, I'm gonna give them a flower crown. The whole crown of something is, like, a serious theme in this stream for me.
Alex Lazaris:
There we go. Got to throw in some palm leaves in there because that's so spicy right now.
Voodoo Val:
Oh, yeah, totally. Got to get that tumblr aesthetic going. The filters and the stars for no reason. Honestly, it would probably look pretty sick if you threw in some nebula textures in there. Just saying that would actually be pretty sick. I'm going to give this a stroke.
Alex Lazaris:
Sam, but can you help us get into the museums?
Voodoo Val:
Honestly, I hope that when our civilization collapses, this is what the aliens find that come after us.
Alex Lazaris:
This is what they carry. Adobe stream?
Voodoo Val:
Yeah, just this broadcast. And they're like, ah, they worship goats and somebody by the name of ben solo and DDR what was oh, I imagine all the aliens that come after us to this planet are basically have the attention span and the personalities of those little three eyed monsters from toy story. They're, like, super into everything that we were about. All right, here goes another instacron.
Alex Lazaris:
All right, do we need to pull another?
Voodoo Val:
Yeah, we do need to. What time? Oh, yeah, we're going to need to pull another word now and then those are going to be the last words that we have for the next ten minutes. So it's getting pretty crazy.
Alex Lazaris:
I'm feeling the pressure.
Voodoo Val:
I am too, man. I'm actually legitimately terrified of what I've been creating on this stream again, wondering if anyone on adobe is going to be rethinking. She just drew rainbows and kylo ren the whole time we asked her to do a show, and then this is what we I don't know, man. Gus is just pinching the bridge of his nose like, oh, man, not val again. Well, not this. All right, there goes a little crown. And I'm going to grab a flower. Do, like, a large flower right at the top. Booyah. This is the happiest kylo ren there ever was. The fairest kylo in all of the land.
Alex Lazaris:
My little boat needs to be a little bigger now.
Voodoo Val:
There's my flowers for spring. Kylo's dabbing playing DDR in space. There are lasers in the background. Alex Lazaris has got goats with rainbow eyes and a walrus and a boat on a spring in a rainbow like galaxy constellation with some interdimensional square gateway to somewhere behind that goat. I don't know, man, but it's looking great. Flower power. Kylo ren. Yeah. Let's do another word.
Alex Lazaris:
Yeah, let's do it.
Voodoo Val:
All right, guys, this is the last word, last two words, and then we've got about ten minutes left. And a few of those minutes have to be oh, no. A few of those minutes have to be the outro. So we are in overdrive. What'd you get, man?
Alex Lazaris:
So I've got another chat.
Voodoo Val:
Chat? Yes. And I've got Triangle. I've got triangle. Another shape. That's not hard, I don't think. Dab vader. Yes. All right, so chat, you got to give us another handful of words because we each get to pick a word from chat. So let's go. Try to be gentle with us.
Alex Lazaris:
Oh, pizza done.
Voodoo Val:
Pizza. I kind of want to add pizza too, but I can't add pizza if you added pizza.
Alex Lazaris:
Yes, you can. Everybody needs pizza.
Voodoo Val:
I'll see what else we get. Michael Jackson. You got it. Michael Jackson's going to be moonwalking on the surface of the spaceship in the background. That's what's happening. Can I get Michael Jackson? Here we go.
Alex Lazaris:
Oh, man. This pizza has strawberries and blueberries on it.
Voodoo Val:
That hurts me to think about.
Alex Lazaris:
I was going to say people that don't like pineapple on pizza. Really?
Voodoo Val:
Me? I do not like pineapple on pizza. Blasphemy.
Alex Lazaris:
All right, so we got one pizza. And what else is the words pizza?
Voodoo Val:
And honestly, it's really oh, triangle. Triangle. I was going to say it's up to you what you choose from Chat, but pizza is what you chose from Chat. And then we have to add a triangle.
Alex Lazaris:
Okay. So like, a pizza slice is pizza slice is fine.
Voodoo Val:
Yeah.
Alex Lazaris:
Oh, two for one. Let's go.
Voodoo Val:
All right, let me license this. License. This little Michael Jackson silhouette.
Alex Lazaris:
Here.
Voodoo Val:
Oh, yeah. Let me grab this guy right here. Let's grab this guy's.
Alex Lazaris:
Object collection tool. See if it actually works. Not really.
Voodoo Val:
All right, I'm going to duplicate that. I'm going to drag that over. Oops, let me grab my thing here. Let's bring this over here. You guys ready for this? I'm going to look at Chat while I'm doing this. I'm going to shrink this Michael Jackson down, and he's going to be way in the back here, like, doing his little he's going to be really small. You're not even going to know he's there unless you watch this broadcast moonwalking on the surface of this spaceship in the back. Let's kind of blur him out. There you go. There you go. You won't even see him. You won't even know that he's there unless you watch this happen just now. That's the only way you will know that this happened. Now I have to add a triangle. I think I'm going to go for the cool tumblr aesthetic and just put, like, a glowy triangle in the back. Kind of like you added that sick square. I'm going to get a triangle because I really don't want to draw a triangle. I don't trust myself to do that.
Alex Lazaris:
Triangles are hard.
Voodoo Val:
Yeah. Get a triangle from Adobe Stock. Booyah. There. We just this is very interesting, man.
Alex Lazaris:
I'm tempted to just make the whole background pizzas now.
Voodoo Val:
The whole background pizzas?
Alex Lazaris:
Yeah, why not?
Voodoo Val:
Do it. Go for it. I actually love them. I think they're great. I think you've done a great job.
Alex Lazaris:
Thank you.
Voodoo Val:
That's good, man. That's awesome. I'm actually super into that. Hold on. I'm going to zoom into just yours so that people can see how lit that is. Check that out. Look at that. That is so good.
Alex Lazaris:
We'll just sell it at Zumies now.
Voodoo Val:
Yes, exactly. You know how many people would dig that at Zumies?
Alex Lazaris:
I know.
Voodoo Val:
Or like tilly's. Sell it at Tilly's.
Alex Lazaris:
Oh, man.
Voodoo Val:
All right, let me find billions of.
Alex Lazaris:
Dollars in sales right there.
Voodoo Val:
Yeah, I'm over here trying to isolate this triangle. I'm looking for my magic wand tool or my magic wand tool right there. Boom. Duplicate that. I'm going to drag this over here, put this triangle.
Alex Lazaris:
My photoshop is locking up.
Voodoo Val:
Oh, no, don't worry. No one can see. I'm switched over to my view right now.
Alex Lazaris:
Good crotch.
Voodoo Val:
All right, I'm going to switch this to white and I'm going to give it an outer glow. Let's see it. Outer glow. I might leave it like that because that kind of looks like a lightsaber.
Alex Lazaris:
Oh, my goodness. I just saw what you're doing.
Voodoo Val:
Yeah, it's like he's like, just really going for it in space right now. Oh, it kind of covers up the Michael Jackson, though. I don't want to cover up the Michael. Michael going for, like, supreme illuminati vibes here with the triangle. Oh, yeah. I don't know. I'm going to still rotate it this way, make it smaller. I think you can still see Michael in the back. Yeah, you can. He's like right there on the edge. Look at him, guys. If I zoom way in, you can see this little mini, miniature, pixelated Michael Jackson right on the edge. Oh, man, that's so good. Nobody knows it's there but us. It's our secret. It's a happy little moonwalk happening. Let me rasterize this and I'm gonna erase now. I don't recommend doing this at home, honestly. I'm literally like erasing. Yeah, I'm like rasterizing and erasing around things. I don't recommend doing that because it's not a great deal. But we do have literally, like, two and a half minutes because we got to start saying goodbye right now. So I think that's all the time we have got our little triangle. All right, let me show off our little dual view here. So we had to add the words. See, what did we start out with? We started out with I chose Star Wars because we had a chat's choice. So I chose Star Wars from Chat. And you chose goat, right?
Alex Lazaris:
Yeah, goat and rainbow.
Voodoo Val:
Yeah. And we drew rainbow. And then we had to add gosh, I've almost forgot all of them. They've been so many. We had square, we had triangle, we had spring. What are the ones that you drew?
Alex Lazaris:
I got ship. Ship.
Voodoo Val:
You chose Walrus too, for another. I added lasers because Shauna was screaming lasers. I chose Michael Jackson from Chat because somebody was yelling Michael Jackson. We added so many things, and basically what we had to do is we had to just keep adding all of these things into our design. As we were going along, we made these monstrosities, which, honestly, though, I feel like you could sell yours.
Alex Lazaris:
Yeah.
Voodoo Val:
I'm not going to down on you. I know this is a competition, but yours is really cool.
Alex Lazaris:
Thank you, Val. I appreciate it.
Voodoo Val:
You're welcome.
Alex Lazaris:
I think I'm going to start doing limited skateboards and I'll sell my website. You should be a thing.
Voodoo Val:
You should. And then I don't know where this is going to go. I might put this on a postcard and just ship it to random people. But this is my kylo ren, my rainbow kylo ren, the flower halo dabbing while playing Dance Dance Revolution in space.
Alex Lazaris:
So good.
Voodoo Val:
I'm super excited about it. I'm going to switch over to the full cam here so that we can properly say goodbye to you. We don't have any more time left. But Alex, thank you very much for joining me, my friend.
Alex Lazaris:
Thank you for having me. This was so much fun.
Voodoo Val:
You're very welcome. I hope to see you on the show again sometime because this is a blast. Thank you everyone for joining us at home. I hope that you guys created some crazy monstrosities with us and you might show us in the discord or tweet them at us on social media. Thank you all for coming back to Adobe Live for another day. I hope that we were able to make your social distancing and stay at home time a little more exciting because that was what we were aiming for. Just having fun, chilling out and doing some funny art. And we will see you next time. So thanks for joining us everyone. Bye bye.
